Why my posts are a bit erratic

2 September 2017

The best way to keep a blog is to plan regular posts so that you, dear reader, are kept engaged with all the goings on. That's the theory anyway, and certainly its what all the blogging experts say.

And you'll probably agree that blogs that keep you entertained are also pretty frequent.

I'm amazed that people like Junkaholique, Seth Apter and The Girl with the Green Sofa manage to keep regular posts despite the fact that they clearly have incredibly busy lives.

I have a busy life! It's all a bit full on but oh dear, the poor blog is not getting the attention it needs.

This year keeps bowling me curve balls.

So, you might remember in May the stuffing was knocked out of me when I lost my old dog. It definitely affected my blogging creativity.

And now my Mum is ill. And that too is sapping the creative energy.

So please bear with me while I adjust.

Meanwhile, some more lampshades.!

  1. So sorry to hear about your mum, I hope she gets better soon. I had been wondering where you were, imagining a holiday somewhere exotic but don't worry, whenever you find the time it doesn't matter how long between blogs as long as you are doing what you need to do. By the way, I bought the book Drawn to stitch that you recommended and I love it, so inspirational, it's been on the table for months and I'm taking it on holiday this week too! Take care of yourself as well as mum. XX

  2. Sorry to hear that. Supporting family takes so much energy that in better times we would use for creative endeavours. Hope your mum is improving.

  3. So sorry to hear about your mom. Hoping this is just a temporary glitch in her health. I swear, these life interrupted moments never seem to be doled out here and there, but come poring down one after another some years while other years we sail along with nary a care. I've had such years which led me to believe that if I just held on, sometime by my fingernails, and grit my teeth, all the bad things would magically stop when calendar turned to the new year. And for some reason, they would. Hang in there, by the fingernails if necessary. Hugs

  4. I'm really sorry to hear about your Mum's ill health, Hilary. I hope she will soon be on the road to recovery. Look after yourself too, it's very easy to get ill yourself when you are caring. x
