I have a piece of work hanging in a public place.
And I mean in a very public place. It's in Milton Keynes Central Library - on the first floor. In the adult learning section!
It's part of a small exhibition put on by Jane Charles and ACE (Adult Continuing Education at MK).
You can read a bit more about it on Jane's blog here.
You may remember that I have done a couple of City and Guilds courses with Jane at MK ACE. In the past I have posted my progress on this blog.
In honesty, this piece is not part of the C&G work, but Jane was very happy to hang it to show the potential of mixed media and textile work and generally just to promote her forthcoming courses.
That's mine on the right in the picture below.
And you can just make out another of my sketchbooks in this picture (the one at the rear of the table).
There is other lovely work too.
Jane is a lovely lady and if you are in MK do go along to the library to have a quick look.
And if you know anyone who might be interested, point them in the direction of ACE.
The exhibition is on until the end of October.
Thanks for the plug H - and your photo's are so much better than mine!! x
ReplyDeleteLets hope that between us we drive a bit of traffic.
DeleteWow, what an amazing exhibition - so much work! Our library would never do something like that, especially leaving sketchbooks and pieces of fabric out on display. Lucky you to be part of it!
ReplyDeleteIt's good isn't it. I'm not sure who negotiated it but its a good promotion of the opportunities presented by ACE. It's a big problem though isn't it. Finding venues to show our work.
DeleteMe! I negotiated it :) I was looking for a central venue for an exhibition and contacted any space I could think of....go me!!
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Go Jane!!!!
