The Year of the Horse

The Chinese Year of the Horse has started with blue skies.  Surely this must be a good omen. We've had so much rain pouring down out of oppressively grey skies, that the blaze of blue below felt almost unreal.

The thing about the Chinese New Year ( and we were in Chinatown in London to enjoy it) is there is so much vibrant colour.

And food!

We found this street vendor selling dumplings or buns ( the description seemed interchangeable).  They were steamed in this tower.  The dumpling bit was obviously a yeast based mixture, quite bland and just needed to hold the filling in place.  I had the vegetable dumpling and it was delicious.  Street food as it should be!
